Election 2010

Lt. Col. (RET) Allen West is not in my district but in a neighboring one. His congressional race against Ron Klein will be the one I'm most closely watching as well as Christine O'Donnell's in Delaware and Sharron Angle's in Nevada.

Today I will vote for Marco Rubio for US Senate. In the hotly contested governor's race here in Florida, I will leave that one blank and let the chips fall where they may. I don't particularly care for either candidate. We do have some interesting ballot initiatives here to vote on so that will bring out people to the polls as well.

What races around the country are you passionate about or keeping a close eye on?

*Yawn*

A change in congress is somewhat routine in the midterms. It happened to Dubya.
What will be interesting is to watch the further fracturing of the republican party if some of the prominent Tea Partiers get elected.
Hawaii has a Theocrat in the Govenor's race- in fact both candidates are connected to dubious dominionist organizations.

The Sestak- Toomey race is closely watched here in PA.

All the hyperbole is amusing because even if the Republicans win both houses, BO still wields veto power.

The continuum of the future will only become noticeable in 2012, but it won't matter because we'll all be dead! Hahahahahaha!

My fear is that "conservatives, "Tea-partiers" and so called Republicans win big today then continue business as usual or worse making another 4 years of BO a reality.

Prop 19 in CA. (Fingers crossed.)

I'm pretty disgusted at the quality of discourse here in the US, most notably IRT the elections which are going to happen today.

Really, I'm more comfortable when power is split across the parties; repubs control the senate, dems control the house, etc. It seems likely to me that the latter group is going to lose some control today, and I'm quite happy with that - despite the fact that I tend to favor democratic over republican candidates.

But... the rationale that's been used to get people to vote republican/conservative is anti-American. It's also anti-intellectual and intentionally plays on the fear / uncertainty we're all experiencing. It's fucking dishonest.

So. I'm letting the idiots who froth at the mouth do the voting today; they certainly outnumber the moderates. 8 years of one of the most dishonest administrations in American history, and yet 2 years of the other party in control is supposedly what's destroying this country?

Please.

These elections are about ignorance, not enlightenment. I want nothing to do with them.

I almost forgot. I had the opportunity to vote against US Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz today. If any of you are unfamiliar with her, then this link should give you an idea of what she's about.

GS, if you can provide a link with info re: Prop. #19, post it here.

JD,
As per usual, your link doesn't work. Just sayin'.

Here's the link for Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Rubio has already been declared the winner and Crist has conceded. Woo-hoo!

Allen West has just declared victory!

It is hard to believe that there were people that actually voted for O'Donnell.
Just think about that- voted for O'Donnell.

The gears of the republic turn very slowly.
Systematically dispelling myths and superstition- just the way the founders would have envisioned.

I could not be more thrilled with the election!

I am elated!
