What if Jesus Had Never Been Born? The Standing of Women in Society

Tracy C. of the blog Abundant Living was kind enough to invite me to guest blog over at her site. The next installment from the landmark classic by Kennedy and Newcombe is on the differences before and after Christ's first coming on the status of women in society. I would be pleased to discuss the matter here or over on Tracy's blog. Here's a link to her blog if you would like to read the latest installment in this ongoing series over there.

You are a real piece of work.... Christianity helped women. Once again, you know nothing of history and your ignorance of it is blinding. And, the fact that that moron asked you to guest blog is a real testimony to how little education you all have. Here is some simple advice- do some research that is credible.

Good morning to you too sunshine. Would you mind examining the relevant link-blog entry and tell me what is not factually/historically correct?

No. I will not lose IQ points arguing with you again.... There is no point, and you cling to your delusions no matter what. I understand futility, you do not. Once again, if you are ever interested in actually learning, I will be more than happy to help you. I would love to send you information that would help you learn.

I saw what she wrote on her blog. You sure do read alot, just have no idea how to interpret, analyze, or critically contextualize any information that you take in.

Would the possession of such knowledge make me into a happy, cheerful person like yourself? For starters, what religion elevated the status of women more than Christianity at a societal level?

I have learned from you.... I will not argue your stupidity with you anymore. You do not even come to the table armed with any information that is credible. Personally, I feel bad for you. I feel like I am picking on a child, and it does not make me feel good about myself. How about a change of pace.... You do the research, then you tell me.

You know JD, if you were humble, and had a shred of decency, I would not even engage you. The scary thing is is that you think that you are right. And, that is what makes it so bad.

It is true that Christianity (and especially the White race obvously) lifted women up but today they aren't even happy with the place the Bible has given them. There are rules and places for women njust like there is rules and places for men. Maybe they'd rather we go back to the old ways? I don'[t think so.

Tink, I typed [Aztec hospitals] into a search engine and all that came up was satire. Try it

Why dont you look for yourself... Actually research. I am not feeding you a link.

Actually JD- I have decided to be nice.

Here is a website that notes the differences in medicine between Ancient Egypt (before Christianity) and the Medieval Period (after Christianity). From an empirical standpoint, medicine regressed.

http://www.aldokkan.com/science/medicine.htm

I would think that you would at least research the history of medicine before you assumed that Christians started the hospital system. Very, very wrong.

Re: Egyptian medicine..

"The only surgical conditions treated were wounds, fractures, abscesses, and circumcisions"

"As in Mesopotamia, ancient Egyptian medicine was religious-empirical" Link

Insofar as accessability, where was the decree akin to "the Council of Nicaea in 325 AD instructed "every cathedral city in Christiandom" to "start a hospital"?

PS, were these "hospitals" yuo mentioned ambulatory and accessable by the poorest members of society?

More so than in your country, the USA, I suspect.

Keep looking.... Actually learn something before you post. Try it, see the difference in your ability to understand and defend something. Take a step out of your intellectual laziness and think.
